During the Battle of Belleau Wood in World War I, German troops gave United States Marines the nickname "Teufel Hunden" (Devil Dog). We brewed this imperial stout with Madagascar vanilla to mimic the flavor of devil's food cake sandwiches and to pay tribute to the United States Marine Corps for its birthday, November 10th.
